What is the drinking age on a carnival cruise?
Posted by admin under Bahamas
Cari asked:
I am 18 years old and going on a Eastern Caribbean cruise. We are stoping at these 3 islands (Nassau, St. Thomas, St. Marten). Does anyone have previous experiences? Since it is in International Waters and on the Royal Caribbean cruise line you can be 18 with a sign form?

Carnival adheres to the American drinking age. 21 and up.
A direct link to that question on their website is below.

Drinking age is 21, unlike Royal Caribbean, Carnival does not allow anyone that is not of drinking age in America to drink onboard their ships.

21. Your sail and sign card (used for purchases) has your info, so if you plan on drinking, someone else will have to buy your drink. I’d suggest wait til you are off the ship in one of the islands where you are allowed to drink ( you don’t want to get caught).

It’s 21 up to drink on the ship. I just got back from a Carnival cruise this past Monday.
However, there was a girl at my dinner table who was 20 and she drank the whole time on the ship. Her bf, who was 25, just always got the drinks. No one seemed to care.

This is really hard to say because once they get more than 3 miles off coast they fall under the Captains laws and Maritime.
If the Captain allow drinking at 18 then so be it…
