Do you need a reason to cruise in your sports car?

I have an older Corvette, bought it 2 years ago at the beginning of a mid-life crisis, my husband got mad at me for today for taking it for a drive for no reason at all other than it’s a really sunny nice day and I wanted to cruise with the roof off and listen to tunes. He says that I should only drive it when I actually have somewhere to go, I say I don’t need any place to go. Who is right?

cars are made to be driven, don’t matter where ur going.

If it’s YOUR car- you can “total it”- if that’s what you feel like. If it’s HIS car- I’d only drive it for a “reason”- or he’s gonna get in a “huff”. If it’s a SHARED vehicle- then you tell him that you’re going out for a “drive”, exchange a few “choice words” of disagreement- and then get in the car & go anyway..! This is called, marital “democracy”. :)

It’s not as simple as “who’s right”.. It’s just a matter of opinion. I agree with yours. I ride my motorcycle just for the sake of riding it, and if I had a sportscar I would do that sometimes too.

No, I never need a reason to go cruise around. I don’t do it near as much as I used to, but I used to go cruise for hours just to be out riding around (currently just have a daily driver that’s nothing special).

If he thinks you need a reason to go out and drive it, then tell him you went out for a Coke or shopping (or whatever).

Alternately, you could tell him you did go somewhere, and that was out cruising :)
