How to obtain a job on a cruise ship?
Posted by admin under Mental Health
SANTHEMAN asked:
I’m a registered psychiatric nurse graduated in the UK and worked for the past ten years in UK mental health institutions. I’m looking forward to an adventurous working life as a nurse or anything similar on a cruise ship. I’m experienced in mental health issues and able to conduct anxiety management and relaxation sessions. I’m fluent in English and French.

You can approach the Cunard Lines or the P & O Lines in Southhampton, England (the two biggest cruise ship operators in your country) You can also approach employment agencies in Southhampton that specialize in maritime work.
Or you can take a little trip to Oslo, Norway and go to Royal Norwegian Cruise Lines - and the maritime employment agencies there.
Or you can go to Miami, Florida, USA - the main hiring point for most of the cruise lines in the world - and approach the employment agencies and the cruise lines there.
Also, you can come here to New York City and approach the maritime employment agencies here.
Before you do that, you should approach the Board of Trade in Southhampton, and see what type of licenses are required for British seamen, and put in the application and get the physical that they require.
But you should be able to get yourself a job on the cruise lines
Good luck!
