Why does my dash say CRUISE when it does not have cruise control?

1991 Toyota Pickup 2.4, L4, 2wd. When the sun shines a certain way on to my tachometer, I can see that the word CRUISE is there like it is meant to be lit up when CC turns on. It does not have Cruise Control, why does it have this?

My best guess is they use the same dash in multiple cars some in which have cruise control.

1st guy is right. It’s cheaper to use one universal dash for all the trucks.

i own a shop and that’s in all the dashes just in case they had cruise in them, i had one that did have cruise in it,but all of them have the option built right in ,in case you wanted to add it to it,but that’s why its there, good luck with it,hope this helps.
